Congratulations to Morton's Illinois State Scholars

Morton High School Seniors are receiving statewide recognition from the Illinois Student Assistance Committee (ISAC) for their outstanding academic achievement. ISAC recently announced the 2017-18 State Scholars and named 27 Morton East High School students and 21 Morton West students as honorees. State Scholars account for approximately the top ten percent of graduates from approved high schools each year. ISAC selects students based on their ACT and state test scores. Class rank and class size also play a factor in the selection process. According to the ISAC State Scholar Program requirements, students must perform in the top one-half of their high school class at the end of the third semester before graduation, or score at or above the 95th percentile on the ACT or SAT, to be eligible for the award. Morton East Illinois Scholars were treated with a breakfast and award ceremony in March. Morton West State Scholars will be recognized during this year’s senior awards night ceremony on May 11.
